The Van Helsing Mysteries

It’s the ’70s occult cop show that never was!

I made this intro a year ago purely for kicks, edited from Hammer’s Dracula A.D. 1972, which felt to me very much like the pilot for a TV series. To my surprise it ended up traveling all over Facebook. Somehow even the prolific John Llewellyn Moxey, director of “Kolchak: The Night Stalker,” saw it and liked it! So I figure, hey, if we can reanimate Peter Cushing for Star Wars, why can’t we have this?*

Anyway. Want some Dracula that’s just as obscure, but way more real? Dracula in Istanbul: The Unauthorized Version of the Gothic Classic, on sale September 13, presents the first ever English-language version of the 1928 “bootleg” Turkish rewrite of Dracula. It’s our first book! You should get it!

* Although there would certainly be some irony in resurrecting a dead actor to play a vampire hunter…
