Rampage (Korkusuz)

In 1986, director Çetin İnanç put a Turkish spin on Rambo: First Blood Part II with his unofficial remake Korkusuz. Replacing the Vietnam War with the contemporary conflict in southeastern Turkey, the film recast Sylvester Stallone’s disillusioned one-man army as a patriotic commando played by champion bodybuilder Serdar Kebapçılar. Decades later, the “Turkish Rambo” found an online cult following, thanks in part to its climactic rocket-launcher battle—a sequence infamous for its handmade effects and endless supply of RPGs.

The film received its first English-language home-video release in 2009 under the title Rampage. Produced by Ed Glaser, the edition required an entirely new soundtrack, as the original relied heavily on copyrighted music borrowed from Rambo: First Blood Part II and Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. Glaser directed a new English dub and commissioned an original score by composer Jake Kaufman, creating a new version of the film that could be legally distributed.

News of the release eventually reached Turkey, where it sparked renewed interest in both the film and its star. The project led to interviews and media appearances for Kebapçılar more than two decades after the film’s original release.
