Neon Harbor Wins Telly Award for “Deja View”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Neon Harbor Wins Highest Honor Silver Telly Award for “Deja View”
35th Annual Telly Awards honors the very best films, videos, and commercials
NEW YORK CITY, NY – 06/16/2014 – The winners of the 35th Annual Telly Awards have been announced, with Ed Glaser of Neon Harbor Entertainment taking home a highest honor Silver Award for the online video series “Deja View.” With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this year’s Telly Awards has been one of the most successful and competitive in the long history of the Telly Awards.
In “Deja View,” producer and host Ed Glaser spotlights bizarre and often unauthorized foreign remakes of popular big-budget films. Featuring Indian versions of “Harry Potter” and “A Nightmare on Elm St.,” a Turkish adaptation of “Star Trek,” and a Nigerian “Titanic,” Glaser compares these movies to their better-known counterparts and discusses the context in which they were produced. The episode entitled “The Psychedelic Version of ‘Godzilla’ You’ve Never Seen” — about the obscure colorized Italian version of the monster classic — won a highest honor Silver Telly in the Informational category.
“It’s an extraordinary honor to win a Silver Telly,” beamed Neon Harbor president and producer Ed Glaser, who in 2009 produced the first English language release of the so-called “Turkish Rambo.” “I’m a huge Godzilla fan besides, and it’s exciting to see that people continue to be as interested in these overseas remakes and reworkings as I am.”
Neon Harbor has previously won five Telly Awards, including one prior Silver Telly. Other Telly Award winners this year include Walt Disney, Warner Brothers, NBC Universal, FOX, ESPN, and Showtime.
